Updated skincare routine!(Night)

Hey guys! School just started, and i'm tired already.
I'm still hopeful this semester will be good.

I have an updated routine; some things haven't changed, but I replaced old products that just didn't agree with my skin with some new ones that have been wonderful so far!

Night:

I clean my makeup with softymo deep cleansing oil.

I thought I liked the sephora one, but I love this one so much better! When it comes in contact with water, it doesn't get thick and goopy, it just turns white and washes off! I don't need to scrub or anything. It's really thin.

Next, I use my clinique acne solutions bar soap & my clarisonic to wash everything completely.
I should change the brush, :(

I can't give you a picture of my soap right now, i'm so embarrassed it's a little pebble lol

Now, this is where the process gets a bit lengthy.. it actually used to be, but i'm so used to it, i can do everything in 5 minutes now.

First I use my clinique #3 toner, then follow it immediately with Etude House Wonder Pore. I do this while my face is still wet.

full, pretty new bottles!

I then follow with my MIssha Time Revolution NIght Repair serum & Etude House collagen moistfull emulsion, eye cream & face cream!

I hope to get the full sizes! these are wonderful!

Ever since I took a more active role in taking care of it, my skin has been improving. With this routine, my skin's at the best it's been since I started puberty. I don't mind the extra time I take because it keeps my skin calm & clear. :D

[Review] Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Serum

For a while now, I've heard that I should start taking care of my skin more rigorously; & I've been doing just that. I realised that I was still missing something that many people swear by; a serum. I got really lucky finding this! (I've also got a spot correcting serum, but I didn't start using it yet.)

I got this in a missha haul a little bit ago, when they had the VIP shop open for everyone; I hope they do that again~
Apparently it's a dupe for Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair.  I wouldn't really know how they stand side by side, as I've not the money for the Estee Lauder serum at $82 per 50ml on Amazon (regularly $96), vs Missha's at $50 per 50ml (Bought it for $25 during the VIP sale.)

It comes in packaging that just screams ~expensive~; to me, at least. lol I quite like it. (purple!)

The serum itself is a brownish orange color, it doesn't really have a particular smell, so I'm thinking it's not fragranced.

When I started using it, I have to admit, I was slightly pissed because I got pimples for the first time in weeks. But keep to it, using it every other night & then all & your skin will love it.

When I smooth it on it takes a little while to absorb, but using piano fingers all around your face helps it.
You can also you layered cotton sheets, like selena hagaseru cotton, soaked in a tiny amount of water, just enough to get all soaked up, with a drop or two of serum to use as a mask-ish type thing when you go to sleep.

I didn't think to take before and after pictures of my skin, but I can really tell you after such a small time, even now my skin's feeling plumper(? if thats the right word lol) & softer. Next time a sale rolls around I'll stock up some more!

[weekly mani] 8.8.2013

I've really been neglecting this blog, at first for good reason, but I've had the whole summer to work on it, but the lazies caught me. xD
I've still been keeping up with my skincare & things, but I just haven't been documenting it.

I just received my nail stones from ebay & I couldn't wait to try them out! I told myself I was gonna go without polish for a week to let my nails breathe, but I barely went 3 days before I broke down & made up my nails lol

I'm not quite sure what brand the gold is, since I painted my nails while I was at my aunt's & added the rhinestones later when I got home. I quite like simple nails, but they're not plain. ^^

My current skincare routine (day)

Hi guys! This is the second part of my skincare routine. Let's jump into it, shall we?

When I wake up, i'm really just...blah. My morning routine reflects that, since it's less time-consuming than my night.

First, I use Biore combo skin balancing cleanser with a foam net. I don't use my skin brush in the morning, since there's really nothing to deep clean
this is almost done, I might repurchase.

I then use my witch hazel toner as a toner, & rite aid brand Aveeno positively radiant. ( i've had the actual aveeno brand, but I just want to finish this one. )

I then top it all off with my neutrogena healthy defense daily moisturizer in SPF 50.

If I'm wearing makeup that day, I'll put a spritz of Missha deep sea water micro mist in Rose to kinda set it. lol

Well, that's my current routine, I'll make sure to keep you posted when I update it! :D

My current skincare routine (night)

Hey, guys!
Wow, I've really been sleeping on this blog, lol.
Nothing has really changed in the few months since I've posted.
My current routine's about to change, though. I have so many new things to try out!
But before everything's done, I'd like to go over what has had my sensitive, oily & acne prone skin calm & clear. :)

When I'm back home after a long day of doing whatever I had to drag myself outside to do, I use an oil cleanser to take my makeup off, and sometimes, I use that time to kinda massage my face also..lol For the past few months (since december, actually) I've been using sephora collection supreme cleansing oil.

All I really need is a pump to take all of my makeup off. Even waterproof mascara & this MAC eyeliner I've had since last year that's virtually indestructible. All you need to do is rub gently.

I use plain water to emulsify the oil & rinse it off.  It is a bit time consuming, and i'd imagine it'd be easier if you had a washcloth just for your face lol.

Then I use my rite-aid brand acne wash with my clarisonic. I believe the store brand was an alternative to clearasil daily clear face wash.

As for toner & moisturizer, I use dickinson's witch hazel followed by clinique clarifying lotion #3 for combo skin & h2o marine daily hydrator.

Lol, that's it, really.. I try not to use too many things on my face at the same time.

[Tutorial] Green Tea & Oatmeal Face Mask

I have pretty oily, petulant, confusing, acne prone skin. I find that if I just use 3 step regimens every day, it doesn't work. So I usually use face masks on the weekend & in the middle of the week. :)

I'm used to using my beauty diary & face shop sheet masks, also rubber masks ^^ But lately I've been trying my hand at home made masks. This is one of them.

I already said that my face is really easily irritated, so this mask is really really gentle & the oatmeal in it calms skin down. The green tea is full of antioxidants & it also has a tiny bit of caffeine  which is said to also help with irritated/inflamed skin & also tightens pores! (it won't help you wake up, though! lol that's why you should drink the extra tea O: . )

You'll need:

  • very warm green tea
  • A small bowl or disposable cup
  • A foundation brush you don't care about, OR YOUR FINGERS~
  • that's it, really, lol

Okay, on to the step by step~

Make the tea first!

Then, clean your face gently~
I used Biore combo skin balancing cleanser & I made the foam with my Ishihara Awa foaming net (3.50), & the suds that come from such a small amount is crazy, O_O I used only half a pump. I didn't use anything other than my hands, since it was in the morning & there was nothing on my face to begin with.

After washing your face, take the tea & squeeze the excess liquid out of the bag, be careful! it could still be hot

Put a small amount of oatmeal in your cup/bowl, about 2 tablespoons (I used oatmeal I ground up in a dry blender & i store in a ziploc. It's really convenient! )

Open the tea bag & get as much of the leaves out of it as you can, putting it on the oatmeal~

use a small spoon to put some of the tea in, making it a really thick consistency, cause you want it to stick to your face, right? lol

Then, taking your brush or the back of the spoon, mix everything up!

Now, you slather it on & wait.
I wait until I cant move my face, which takes between 20-30 minutes, actually. xD

Excuse my morning hair, lol
It has a slight cooling feeling, ^^

When it dries, you won't be able to move your face, it's really funny~
Wash it off with warm water or if you want to, a cleanser of your choice, then go about your normal routine :)
